Marie Curie
Marie Curie was a Polish-born French physicist, best known for her work in radioactivity. Together with her husband, she discovered two new elements: polonium and radium. Her work in radiation paved the way for new cancer treatments. She also created portable x-ray machines, called "Petite Curies" in order to help soldiers on the battlefield.
